I tipu ake au i roto i te hāpori o Te Muriwai and still living here in the village with my whānau. I went to Te Kura o Manutuke, Te Kura o Te Muriwai and then on to Te Kura Tuarua o Ritana.
From birth I have been nurtured within te Kaupapa o Te Rūnanga o Tūranganui a Kiwa as my whānau have been actively involved since its inception. I am honoured by pakeke who refer to me as “the Runanga baby”.
I was a Kaiako in Kōhanga reo for 15 years. I am now a Kaiwhakaako for Te Kōhanga Reo National Trust. This year I was appointed the Tāmanuhiri representative on the Pae Motuhake mō Te Mātāwai mō Te Tairāwhiti.
My journey in governance began in 2019 when I joined the board of Te Kura o Te Muriwai. In 2021 I was elected as a trustee of Tāmanuhiri Tūtū Poroporo Trust and from there appointed as one of the Tamanuhiri representatives on the board for Te Rūnanga o Tūranga-nui-a-Kiwa.
